You should also never plan to fall asleep while the space heater is turned on.
Allowing Children or Pets Near the Space Heater
Placing a space heater in a location where your children or pets can’t get to it is very important. Children will touch or try to play with anything in sight, and space heaters can be very dangerous. So, instead of letting your kids play with all of the buttons on the space heater, hand them the TV remote instead to distract them. If you don’t think your kids or pets will stay away from the space heater, it’s best not to use one at all.
Putting the Space Heater on a Table
In order to keep your kids and pets away from your space heater, you might think it’s a good idea to put it on a table, piece of furniture, or dresser. We strongly urge against this!
