Signs Your Garland Home May Need Drain Repair
A clog is a blockage inside a drain. Drain repair addresses physical damage, misalignment, deterioration, or failure within the pipe. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to clear buildup, but it can’t correct a broken or failing line.
Warning signs that merit a closer evaluation include:
- Persistent or frequently recurring clogs
- Slow drainage affecting multiple fixtures
- Unusual or persistent sewage odors
- Water rising from another drain when a toilet is flushed
- Plumbing or sewage backups
- Unusually lush grass above an underground sewer line
Pipe age, older materials, root intrusion, and soil movement are common causes of underground drain damage. Tree roots can enter through joints and small openings, restrict flow, and damage pipe sections over time. Widespread deterioration in old cast-iron pipe may call for replacement rather than another limited repair.
Garland’s Blackland Prairie clay soil expands during wet conditions and contracts during dry periods. This movement can stress underground pipes, shift joints, and contribute to cracks. A camera inspection helps distinguish a localized blockage from damage that requires sewer line repair.
Options for Repairing or Replacing a Drain Line
The right method depends on the damage’s location and extent. We evaluate the pipe before recommending a limited repair, a trenchless method, or full replacement.
Spot Repair
A professional spot repair removes and replaces a limited damaged section. When the surrounding line remains sound, the repaired section can last as long as the nearby pipe material. Full replacement may be more appropriate when deterioration or repeated failures affect a larger portion of the line.
Trenchless Methods
We perform trenchless pipe repair and replacement when the line’s condition and layout allow it. These methods rehabilitate or replace underground pipe with less surface excavation than conventional digging. Some pipe-lining products may include manufacturer-backed warranties of 50 years or more, depending on the selected system and warranty terms.
Full Drain Replacement
Replacement may be appropriate for extensively deteriorated cast-iron pipe or a line with failures in multiple locations. We work with older cast-iron systems and use PVC and ABS for new drain installations. PVC is durable and corrosion resistant, while rigid ABS is suited to underground use.
Our Camera-Based Drain Repair Process
We begin with an initial consultation and camera evaluation to identify the line’s location and visible condition. We then diagnose the problem and develop a plan before work begins.
When appropriate, we use a trenchless approach to limit excavation. Throughout the project, we provide progress updates and explain any issues discovered during the work.
Once the repair is complete, we test the line to confirm that wastewater flows as intended and ask for your feedback.
Clear Pricing & Qualified Plumbing Technicians
We provide StraightForward Pricing®, including exact costs and available options before work begins. Because the scope of underground damage can vary, the camera evaluation and diagnosis guide the plan. Our technicians arrive in fully stocked trucks with the tools and parts needed to complete most repairs on the first visit.
Every technician we hire undergoes a criminal background check and drug testing. Our technicians are fully trained, licensed, and certified for the services they provide. Texas plumbing work must be completed by properly licensed, registered, or endorsed individuals under the supervision and control required by state law. Texas plumbing licensees must also complete annual continuing education.
Our work is backed by a 100 Percent Satisfaction Guarantee. If you’re unhappy with a repair for any reason, we’ll redo it at no additional cost. Hedrick's Service Now also holds an A+ Better Business Bureau rating and has maintained BBB accreditation since March 1998.
Urgent drain trouble doesn’t always happen during office hours. Our 24/7 answering service allows you to reach us at any time to discuss the next step. After-hours service depends on the circumstances, and the answering service can route your concern.
